Byte, a student packaging project designed by Carter Rice, reimagines how freshness can be tracked and communicated. The clean white boxes are paired with blurred bursts of color, hinting at the vibrancy of fresh food. Clear typography balances the color play, while icons simplify the product’s purpose as a food life cycle indicator. QR-coded smart labels bridge physical packaging with digital tracking. The design is straightforward but layered with utility, making food tech feel accessible and well-designed.
