Don’t you dare try to put Mitch Wiesen in a box— unless that box is a vintage matchbook, that is.
The definition of a multi-hyphenate artist, Wiesen is a South Philly-based designer, illustrator, painter, printmaker, typographer, teacher, freelancer, and tattoo artist (to name a few), who also collects vintage matchbooks. They currently work as a senior designer for the packaging agency Soulsight, following a stint at the branding agency Truth & Consequences. Some of their impressive logo and packaging projects include those for Better Late Amaro, the Oaxacan mezcal brand Zignum, and Troëgs Brewing.
But wait, there’s more! Wiesen is also an adjunct professor of typography at their alma mater, the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, and the founder of the font foundry Deli Fresh Type Co.
